About us

Dedunna is Inclusivity

Dedunna Publishers, established in 2019, is a Sri Lankan publishing
house dedicated to promoting inclusivity, gender equity, and
environmental consciousness through high-quality children’s and YA
literature and also fictions for adults. Our name, “Dedunna” (meaning
Rainbow in Sinhala), embodies our commitment to diversity and
providing a platform for all voices.
We believe books can be powerful tools for social and environmental
change. We’ve published over 50 titles tackling a wide range of themes,
reaching a broad and diverse audience. Our imprint “Little Owl Smart
Books” utilizes the latest technology to create interactive experiences
for young readers, fostering a love for learning.
As a publisher deeply invested in inclusivity, we’ve undertaken a unique
initiative to publish Braille books for visually impaired children. These
books are freely distributed upon request, demonstrating our
dedication to social responsibility.

Our Values

  1. Inclusivity: At Dedunna, inclusivity isn’t just a buzzword; it’s the heartbeat of our publishing house. We believe that stories should embrace all perspectives, backgrounds, and identities. Whether it’s a child discovering their own reflection in one of our books or an adult finding solace in a narrative, our commitment to inclusivity ensures that no voice is left unheard.

  2. Gender Equity: Dedunna stands as a beacon for gender equality. Our literature challenges stereotypes, dismantles biases, and celebrates the strength and resilience of all genders. Through our characters and narratives, we empower readers to question norms and envision a world where everyone has equal opportunities.

  3. Environmental Consciousness: The planet isn’t just a backdrop; it’s a character in our stories. Dedunna Publishers recognizes the urgent need to protect our environment. Our books inspire eco-consciousness, fostering a love for nature and encouraging sustainable practices. After all, a healthy planet is essential for the well-being of all its inhabitants.

  4.  Quality Craftsmanship: We don’t compromise on quality. From the choice of words to the design of each book, meticulous care goes into creating our literary treasures. We understand that a well-crafted story has the power to ignite imaginations, spark conversations, and leave an indelible mark on readers’ hearts.

  5. Social Responsibility: Our commitment extends beyond the pages. The initiative to produce Braille books for visually impaired children exemplifies Dedunna’s social conscience. By freely distributing these books, we’re not just publishing; we’re fostering hope, education, and accessibility.

Our Mission

At Dedunna Publishers, our mission is clear: to nurture hearts and minds through the transformative power of literature. We believe that books are more than mere words on pages; they are vessels of empathy, gateways to understanding, and catalysts for positive change.
